VELO FRANCETTE DU MAZEAU A VIX

The Vélo Francette is a cycle route from Caen to La Rochelle (600 km).
Part of the Vélo Francette crosses the southern Vendée Marais Poitevin from Le Mazeau (at Village de la Sèvre) to Vix. This is one of the most beautiful sections of the Vélo Francette. You'll cycle along the river, the Sèvre Niortaise, on small tourist routes, and you'll also be able to see the beautiful market-garden houses of the Marais Poitevin.
This route is ideal for families: you'll always be on the water's edge, in the peace and quiet.
Along the way, you can stop off at Damvix (a village in the heart of the Marais Poitevin).
You'll then cross part of the Charente-Maritime with the locks at Bazoin.
Finally, you can take a chain boat across to the other side of the river to rest at the "Ptit Marais" campsite in Vix.
