Presentation of: Golf de la Bretesche
A magnificent fairytale chateau complete with turrets, towers, moat and adjoining lake, proudly lords it over this delightful woodland course. Seen at the start, middle and end of the round, its striking presence magically filters through the woods and sets a majestic tone.
Carved through towering pines and oaks, the holes are delightfully self-contained. Be careful because they demand precision as anything wayward will likely strike timber. The fairways are attractively mown in an appealing cross-hatch, chessboard style and beg to be hit as well as admired. The very attractive stonebuilt clubhouse and extremely comfortable adjoining hotel were evidently converted from the chateau’s outbuildings and echo its style. The neat topiary adds a further touch of class. There’s also a delightful nine-hole course. The course was designed by architect and golfer Henry Cotton.
