Presentation of: Sentier pedestre La Digue en terre
Grues, from the Welsh word "grug", was once an island surrounded by the sea. The sea gradually retreated. However, the hillock remained surrounded for most of the year by the waters of the Lay. One of its branches still flows between Grues and the Saint-Denis-du-Payré hillside.
From this limestone hillock, you can discover vast stretches of marshland with cereal crops to the south and natural meadows to the north and west.
