Presentation of: Sur les pas de Clemenceau
It begins on a coastal path that forms part of the GR 8 and overlooks Ragnette beach: you'll come across the remains of several blockhouses and can see the Baleines lighthouse on the Ile de Ré in the distance.
The path then enters the state-owned forest under maritime pines, holm oaks and locust trees, before crossing the oldest part of the village of Saint Vincent-sur-Jard, near the 12th-century Romanesque church.
Arriving at the Clos Thorel, a lovely shaded area with plenty of picnic tables, you will cross the river Goulet on a small footbridge.
The route continues through the state-owned forest of Longeville-sur-Mer, past the sailing school at Le Bouil and the supervised beach at Le Goulet, before returning to the Maison de Clemenceau car park.
