With a surface area of 5 hectares, the Lac de l'Espérance is a privileged and tranquil fishing spot.
The lake is populated by white fish (carp, roach and tench), as well as carnivorous fish (pike, perch, pike-perch and eel). This lake is also very popular with carp anglers, who catch some fine specimens.

Fishing cards can be purchased by the day, month or year. Holiday cards are also available.
They are on sale in Pouzauges, at La Gitane tobacconist's, at the Caves de la Vallée or during daily checks by members of the fishing office.
