Presentation of: CHATEAU LA VARIERE
The château is a medieval manor house that can be dated to the 15th century. Located close to the village of Brissac Quincé, its reputation in the history of wines from the Anjou region is legendary. Indeed, its two ancient cellars, of which the oldest dates back to the late 1400s, have impressive medieval architecture.
In 1850, this historic site was acquired by the family who, to this day, still cultivate its 250 acres, Jacques Beaujeau, the current owner and 7th generation winemaker continues the tradition of blending but with a modern twist. Today this enormous vineyard has protected status as an AOP (Appellations d'Origine Protégées), producing some of the most recognised and notable flavours of the Anjou.
