Presentation of: PRIEURE LA CHAUME
Located in the south of the Vendée, LA CHAUME is first and foremost a rather crazy gamble! To create, from scratch, a vineyard on a piece of land where there were no vines, on a former island in the Poitevin marshes.
The vineyard is the southernmost in the Loire Valley, equidistant between the Loire and the Médoc. Short pruning, organic fertilisation, minimal treatments and very modest yields (25 to 30 hl/ha on average). ECOCERT-certified organic viticulture, totally grassed, the vineyard is managed in such a way as to maintain this potential.
After just ten years on the market, our wines are exported to some fifteen countries and feature on the wine lists of some fifty Michelin-starred restaurants.
New label obtained: Vin Méthode Nature, in addition to the Agriculture Biologique label.
