Presentation of: ROUTES DES VINS COTEAUX ET PANORAMAS DU LAYON
In Angers, your starting point, visit the Château and its ramparts, as well as the Maison des Vins d'Anjou Saumur. This is your chance to taste one of the 17 AOC wines you'll pass through on this tour. Take your time, as each wine has its own particularity...
From Angers, follow the River Maine to the banks of the Loire. In the distance, you'll see the charming little village of Savennières on the banks of the river. On the horizon, rolling hills and vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see... Now's the time to get out your camera and capture some beautiful shots.
A few kilometres from Savennières, the port of La Possonnière is a pleasant place to enjoy a coffee or a stroll along the water with a view of the gabares!
Then take a walk along the Corniche Angevine and the Moulin Guérin, which offer magnificent views over the vineyards.
Nearby, take the time to stop for a gourmet break at one of the wine estates, home to some exceptional restaurants. One of the restaurants on this route has just been awarded its first Michelin star!
With a full belly, the loop will take you as far as the artists' village of Rablay-sur-Layon, where you can observe the work of craftsmen and even take home a pottery piece! As for the village's winemakers, they'll be delighted to share their passion for their trade and the wines of the Layon.
At the end of this tour, stop off to visit the highest castle in France: the Château de Brissac, or admire the sunset from the Grand Beaumont panorama for a final souvenir...
