In the departure town of La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, the wine bars welcome you to sample the local wines. A glass of white, red or rosé Coteaux-du-Loir, take your pick!
After your wine tasting, it's time to relax in the magnificent Prieuré de Vauboin in Beaumont-sur-Dême. In this "Remarkable Garden", between labyrinths, mazes and chestnut trees, all you have to do is follow Ariadne's thread... Take advantage of this stopover to sit down, close your eyes and listen to the sound of the running stream. You'll feel as if you're all alone in the world.
After a break for lunch in one of the local restaurants, it's off again to visit another must-see site on the Routes des Vins: the Château de Poncé and its gardens, which are just as remarkable. And after such an excursion, there's nothing better than a glass of Jasnières at one of the surrounding estates.
"Mignonne allons voir si la rose ...", do these verses sound familiar? Get back in the car and complete the loop by visiting the Manoir de la Possonnière, home of the famous poet Pierre de Ronsard. Take a stroll through its garden, which is dotted with 200 roses, and take a moment to discover where the prince of poets spent his childhood.
