AL GHAR
Presentation of: AL GHAR
Discovery concert
With Laurène Pierre-Magnani (lead vocals, bass, looper), Simon Bismuth (percussion)
Al Ghar, "the laurel" in Arabic, is a collection of songs suspended between Laurène Pierre-Magnani's bass and voice, steeped in soul, poetry and music from elsewhere. The loops she creates on her looper, accompanied by Simon Bismuth's percussion, create a hybrid, improvisational repertoire, somewhere between Sandra Nkaké and Leïla Martial. Written in several languages, the polished lyrics reveal a world that is stubborn, conscious, in love and marked by the singer's mixed heritage.
