Calyp's Atlantic plays a repertoire of brightly timbred, rhythmically sustained tunes on "cans".
Some twenty musicians of all ages, who wield their drumsticks with agility, will make more than fifty drums resonate with passion.
The programme includes songs such as "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Os passaros de Brazil", "La légende de Maracaïbo" and many other surprises.
The instrument, known as the pan, dates back to the Second World War. It was played at carnival time in Trinidad and Tobago. Oil drums were the raw material for this instrument. Come and discover this Caribbean culture by listening to the calypso or even dancing to this intoxicating music!
