Presentation of: Chapelle de Lorette - Journees Europeennes du Patrimoine
The chapel was built between 1640 and 1668. It was originally the church of the Carmelite convent, but during the Vendée Wars the convent was destroyed and then abandoned. The present chapel represents only part of the building. In the 19th century, the parish priest of La Flocellière decided to restore the chapel and built a replica of the Santa Casa de Lorette in Italy, a major pilgrimage site.
