Presentation of: CONCERT - THE SILVER LINES + ALIAS

"Who said rock was dead? Certainly not The Silver Lines, four young boys from Birmingham, who could well be heralding the return of British guitar rock. In fact, they're proud of the fact that they don't have the money to invest in effects pedals or synthesizers, so they're content, in all modesty, to strum their strings with boundless energy." (L'Obs)

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, dilettante, polymath: Emmanuel Alias is all of these things, as well as operating as ALIAS, a sprawling, polymorphous rock project through which he experiments and creates in an effervescent, DIY way, advancing a rock inspired here by psych, there by dance-punk or hip-hop, with twisted, hallucinatory themes at its prow.

Playing loud rock'n'roll in a cottage in the English countryside, dressed in a hand-knitted jumper, that's what it's like to be a Silver Line.
Formed by the Ravenscroft brothers who were bored by the current landscape of guitar bands, Dan (vocals) and Joe (guitar) decided to create music that really excited them. In 2019, they met Kindo (drums) and later George (bass) and moved back to their hometown of Birmingham. Since then, they've been playing gig after gig from the UK to the US, then here, where they were quickly praised by many of the French media when they performed at the Trans Musicales 2023.
Far be it from them to be the umpteenth "indie band of white guys" singing about teenage love or ranting prophetic quotes: The Silver Lines arrive with lyrics that aren't afraid to touch on taboo subjects. Their most recent tracks, for example, tackle toxic masculinity, drug abuse, sexual exploitation and social norms.

The Silver Lines are honoured to be returning to France for their first tour here in 2024.

First unveiling themselves with the EP It's Not Funny So Stop Smilin' released on Simone Records in 2021, Alias hit the road the following year with the concept album Jozef and toured across Quebec and France as well as New York and Toronto.

He also composed music for the HBO series Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, and for a number of Cirque du Soleil productions, as well as acting as director and musical director for Musique Nomade. His second album, EMBRACE CHAOS, on which he swaps guitars for synths almost entirely, will be released in 2024 on Simone Records.
