Presentation of: DESTINATION ARTISTIQUE "Chic nature"

The Vie et Boulogne Tourist Office is opening its doors to artists from the region from Tuesday 3 September to Saturday 21 December 2024. After responding to a call for applications, 14 artists from the Vendée have been selected to exhibit their work and meet the public. To harmonise their work, we have grouped them under 5 themes.

For this third period, discover the work of :
- Jean-Claude POPINOT, Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne (painting)
I started painting at the age of 40, at home, for friends.
With the Garenne group in La Roche-sur-Yon, I exhibited for a few years, in Treize-Vents, Mouilleron-le-Captif and last year in Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne.
Now I'm back with the group "Nous sommes" and drawing to showcase members of the group.
My favourite themes are nature, landscapes and people in action.

- JPIER, Commequiers (painting)
Born in 1948 on the island of Noirmoutier. A painter not quite like the others, due to a defect in my vision (dyschromatopsia), I can only distinguish the primary colours (yellow, red and blue). For me, all other colours are pure imagination. Is this where the artist's dream comes true?
I was attracted to drawing from a very early age, and it was in the 1980s that I gradually took the self-taught route from pencil and watercolour to watercolour, then to oil and acrylic.
A family friend, the painter Jean-Paul GUINEGAULT, (a member of the independents) gave me invaluable advice to help me progress in my artistic approach.
in my artistic approach.
My sources of inspiration are essentially dictated by the search for light, whether in flowers, Vendée landscapes, seascapes, sailors fishing or beach scenes.
Let yourself be carried away and enter my world!...

- Jean-Claude SAVARY, La Chapelle-Palluau (photography)
My interest in photography began when I was about seven, with my Dad's "Semflex", a kind of Rolleiflex at a popular price.
I was able to buy my first Reflex when I was about twenty-six, and since then I've kept up with developments, trying to progress as a self-taught photographer with increasingly exacting standards.
Nature often offers us incredible sights and emotions.
Semflex is a trademark used by the Société des Établissements Modernes de Mécanique (SEM), a French company, to designate its twin-lens reflex cameras.
The Rolleiflex is a medium-format twin-lens reflex camera manufactured by Franke & Heidecke in Brunswick, Germany, from 1929 onwards.
