Presentation of: DESTINATION ARTISTIQUE, VISITE COMMENTEE PAR LES ARTISTES
Discover the work of René AVERTY, La Garnache (sculpture) and Caroline ALLARD, Pornic (painting) during a guided tour led by the artists.
- René Averty
As a former cabinetmaker, I naturally turned to contemporary sculpture: plaster, clay and polyurethane.
These unstructured, harmonious forms create a sense of mystery or potential, evoking emotions linked to nature, through installations with a scenography....
What's important is research and innovation. Above all, there has to be a common thread between the aesthetic and the idea. The journey is the journey. This creative dynamism is characterised by a consistent variety of works, with new approaches to materials and the use or non-use of colour depending on the desired context. From the infinitely small to the infinitely large, anything is possible despite the technical constraints of the material. By mastering the material, you can turn your most secret dreams into reality.
The small formats are in natural or glazed terracotta. Large formats are made of plaster, fabric, mesh and are often lacquered.
- Caroline Averty
Drawing my inspiration from naive figurative art, I mix a number of techniques (acrylic, oil, pastel, etc.) and materials (wood, fabric, paper, etc.) to create luminous paintings inspired by my personal environment: landscapes, scenes from urban life, seascapes or dreams, often with a nod to artists I appreciate (painters, writers, designers, etc.).
Since 2011, I've been exhibiting my work regularly in art galleries, exhibition spaces and at art events. I love meeting people, whether they're talking or sitting quietly. Some people just sit in front of my paintings, saying nothing... It's a moment that I always respect... It's up to each person to make their own way to find what speaks to them. The artist tries his hand at all the graphic arts, sculpture, painting and collage with great ease and curiositý. Nothing is set in stone, everything has to be invented...
