Eglise Notre Dame du Vieux Pouzauges - Journees Europeennes du Patrimoine

The church of Notre Dame du Vieux Pouzauges is a Romanesque building housing exceptional wall paintings dating from the 12th and 13th centuries! The iconographic themes taken from the Old Testament and apocryphal texts make Notre-Dame church a unique site in France. Listed as a Historic Monument, the church also contains other treasures such as a Gothic liturgical washbasin and a pavement made from funerary slabs.
