Presentation of: Exposition "D'ici la...", dans l'intime des voyageurs
The Vie et Boulogne Tourist Office is delighted to present "D'Ici là...", an exhibition that extends the experience offered by the cultural department of the Communauté de communes Vie et Boulogne in 2024, in partnership with Claudie Duranteau and Liza Rassinoux.
Claudie is a storyteller and actress. She has been travelling all over France for several years with her two donkeys. She collects the sounds of the world and people's stories in her microphone.
Liza lives and works in Nantes. Passionate about photography and music from an early age, she mixes street photography, intimate scenes and portraits.
In March 2024, Claudie, accompanied by Liza, will be making sound recordings of the journey among the residents of Vie et Boulogne.
Travel, travel! What drives us to leave? To what destinations, what unknowns? There are short getaways, long solo adventures, unusual encounters, but also journeys that don't move!
"D'ici là..." plunges us into the intimate experience of travel for local people.
The two artists began by seeking to capture the feelings of the people who came to share their experiences. Claudie, using sound creation to draw the poetic thread of a story, seeks to highlight what the journey says to travellers. The photographic portraits came later, with the idea of a counterpoint to the desire for elsewhere. Liza gently entered the intimacy of a home, to capture people's looks and their world.
The sound pieces first shown in the media libraries in May and June 2024 are back for this new exhibition at the Tourist Office from 4 February to 29 March 2025. The 2 artists have enriched them with new sounds and photographs.
This exhibition is an invitation to explore travel through poetic narratives and singular portraits. Visitors will plunge into the personal and moving adventures of the inhabitants. Let yourself be inspired by the richness of these human experiences.
To kick off the exhibition, Claudie Duranteau will be hosting a poetry reading on the subject of travelling on foot: "Paroles vagabondes". A moment of exchange and poetic reflection on travel experiences. Saturday 8 February 2025, 10.30 am, at the Tourist Office. Free, no registration required.
