Presentation of: Fete de la Liberation du 3 au 4 Mai 2025 - Chantonnay
On 3 and 4 May 2025, the town of Chantonnay invites you to immerse yourself in history at the Fête de la Libération. This unique event, taking place in Parc Clemenceau, will plunge you into the heart of the Second World War, with a military camp, exhibitions, parades of military vehicles and much more!
PROGRAMME :
SATURDAY 3 MAY (10.30am to 10.30pm):
- 10.30am: Opening of the military camp (Parc Clemenceau)
- 10.30am-10.30pm: Re-enactment and exhibitions:
→ Military camp with period vehicles and uniforms
→ Scenes from soldiers' lives and demonstrations of manoeuvres
→ Exhibitions on the Resistance and deportation + miniature military vehicles, flags and medals, Liberation crosses in the Youth Centre
→ Documentaries, novels, comics and mangas about the Second World War in the library
- 11.30am and 4.30pm: Parade of military vehicles in the town centre
- 7pm: Period dances with "Ainsi danse
- 8pm: Glam's concert
- 10pm to 10.15pm: Lighting of the searchlight (anti-aircraft defence beacon)
SUNDAY 4 MAY (10.30AM TO 5PM):
- 10.30am - 5pm: Continuation of the re-enactment and the institutions
- 11.30am: A selection of songs from the period
- 11.30am and 3pm: Parade of military vehicles through the town centre
