Presentation of: JOURNEES EUROPEENNES DU PATRIMOINE AU CENTRE MINIER
Take advantage of this cultural event to discover (or rediscover) the new museum!
Follow the miner's trail through the hanging room and the lamp room, then "descend" into the reconstructed mine to relive the work of the "gueules noires" of the Vendée and Deux-Sèvres!
In 2024, the Centre Minier invites you to take a journey through the museum's photographic collections. This new exhibition highlights the human wealth of the Faymoreau coalfield. It's an opportunity to take a fresh look at the mine and discover more than 90 photographs tracing life on the mine floor, in the mine shafts, at festivals, in schools, etc.
Behind each view is a story...
Half price: adults €3.50, concessions €3, free for children under 17.
No reservation required
Faymoreau, a mining village
Learn about the history of this small village born of mining activity as you wander through the "corons" and discover the stained glass windows by Carmelo Zagari in the chapel.
Guided tours of the village and the stained glass windows, leaving from the museum
Saturday at 2pm and 3.30pm
Sunday at 3.30pm and 5pm
Free - no reservation required
