Presentation of: Journees Europeennes du Patrimoine - Village de la Tulevriere a Saint-Etienne-du-Bois

The 41st European Heritage Days, taking place over the weekend of 20, 21 and 22 September 2024, will focus on the heritage of routes, networks and connections, and maritime heritage.

VISIT TO THE HAMLET OF LA TULEVRIERE

- Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, 8am to 8pm:

Free visit of the hamlet of La Tulévrière with its chapel built during the Terror and dedicated to the victims of the village during the massacres of March 1794. The first stained glass windows depict scenes from the Vendée Wars. Treasure and objects belonging to Abbé Ténèbre, a refractory priest from Croix de Vie, who took refuge at La Tulévrière from 1793 to 1795.


- Saturday 21 September, 3pm:

Guided tour of the Tulévrière chapel and its old village. Presentation of its unique history during the Vendée Wars and in subsequent centuries. Discovery of the old forge and its history.


- Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm:

Visit an old forge installed in 1913 and presentation of the blacksmith's trade by Arthur Muller.
