Presentation of: Matje + Petite Gueule
Matjé
Somewhere between Afro-Latin influences, hip-hop and chanson, Matjé presents stories sung or rapped to a fusion of music, inspired by his memories of his travels. Matjé's songs are carefully crafted on stage, and are imbued with a joyous, melancholy atmosphere borrowed from Colombian Cumbia, Brazilian Forro, African Soukous, Reunion Maloya and Madagascan Salegy... but rooted in the French chanson tradition.
Petite Gueule is quite a personality, unveiled to the general public by The Artist on France 2. An atypical artist's name that perfectly expresses her fierceness and sauciness when she sings, a trigger for the writing of her lyrics. A love of words that has led her from actress, performer, author and composer to rap. Her "desire to convey authentic messages" reveals her feelings and anger with malice and a certain fragility.
