Disco night with DJ C-WAX!
Disco music is a blend of funk, soul and pop, enhanced by orchestration including strings and brass (in the 1970s) and synthesizers.
Disco was originally dance music, so rhythm and orchestration took precedence over text and melody: many of the early tracks were simple calls to dance, with the melody reduced to "hooks" to dress up the rhythm, punctuated by a few phrases repeated over and over, evoking the party and the world of nightlife.
