Presentation of: BATEAU CORNELIA - PENICHE A VOILE DE 1908

The river Erdre, which can only be really explored on the water, and the Canal from Nantes to Brest, reveal their secrets to you, quietly, slowly, to the rhythm of the wind and the barge.

The volunteers of the organisation welcome you on board. You will discover old-fashioned sailing. If you’d like, you will get to learn how to steer the boat with the hand tiller, hoist the mainsail, and understand the function of the very typical daggerboards.

You will pass by castles, and have the opportunity to observe the wealth of the marshlands. Keep your eyes open, you might be able to observe a kingfisher! A great moment, along the water, out of time...

The organisation also organises convivial evenings, sail-cinema, concerts, and lectures, on a regular basis.

We are also trying to develop the transport of goods by inland waterways and sea, in order to connect with the history of the Canal from Nantes to Brest, and the past of the barge as a working boat.
