Journees Europeennes du Patrimoine - Eglise du Sacre-Coeur

In 1900, the archpriest of La Roches-sur-Yon, Casimir Deval, initiated the purchase of a vast plot of land in Les Forges with a view to building a church, a presbytery and a school... the headquarters of a new parish in this fast-developing district. Work on the neo-Byzantine-style church (with its bulbous bell towers and mosaics) was spread over the period from 1923 to 1964.

Volunteers from the parish will be on hand to welcome visitors, with a slide show and tour guide.
Free admission on Saturday from 9.30am to 7pm and on Sunday from 1.30pm to 6pm.
