Visit an 18th-century dwelling and its estate

At the Logis de la Chabotterie, the Vendée Department is offering visitors an evocative insight into the gentle way of life in the countryside at the end of the 18th century, through 10 furnished historic rooms.
The site of General Charette's arrest in 1796, this key site of the Vendée War features a multimedia exhibition retracing the major stages of the conflict.
The French-style garden, with its medicinal plants, kitchen garden and traditional vegetables, as well as the ornamental garden with over 120 varieties of flowers. You can also visit the 48-hectare wooded park, a green trail with a pleasure garden, vegetable patch, wash-house, river, meadows and woods.

Escape Game "La Dernière Traque
On 23 March 1796, the area around La Chabotterie was the scene of a decisive manhunt. General Charette and his last loyalists are trying to escape from the Republican troops. Reinforcements are arriving at Le Logis... Will you be able to experience this final manhunt live? Your time is running out and you must survive!
