The Second World War in the Vendée. Take a unique, immersive tour of an authentic 350m2 blockhouse for a thrilling journey back in time!
Discover the history of Les Sables d'Olonne from 1939 to 1945 through illustrated explanatory panels, an educational film and life-size scenes with mannequins all dressed in period costume.
Visit this authentic hospital bunker with its operating theatre in action in August 1944, following a naval and air battle off the port of Les Sables d'Olonne, until the arrival of the French Resistance forces.
The 20 rooms of this rare 350 m² hospital blockhouse, which have remained in their exceptional original condition since 1943, have been carefully refurbished with objects from daily life under the Occupation.
Take advantage of guided tours during the school holidays.
Free treasure hunt for children aged 5/12.
Length of visit: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.
Last admission: 1 hour before closing time.
Admission charge:
9.50/adult (aged 13 and over).
