Bouin has the distinction of having four oyster-farming harbours on its territory: the Brochets harbour, the most northerly, which has undergone major sea defence work due to rising sea levels; the Louippe harbour; the Champs harbour; the first and largest harbour in the bay, built between 1854 and 1860; and the Bec harbour.
