Dolmen de la Frebouchere
Certainly the largest dolmen in the Vendée
Presentation of: Dolmen de la Frebouchere
It dates from the Neolythic period, over 5,000 years ago. This megalithic tomb features so-called Angevin architecture.
The rectangular chamber (7m long) is covered by a huge slab 9m long and 5m wide. It is estimated to weigh 100 tonnes.
The dolmen was restored in 1887.
It was classified as a Historic Monument in 1889.
