Presentation of: Chapelle Saint-Marc de Kervalet

The chapel of St Marc was constructed at the very heart of the salt workers (paludier’s) village of Kervalet back in the XVth century.
It sits on a foundation of rock which emerged from the very salt marshes protected by a circle of white washed houses.

Well worth a visit you will be able to admire its typical Breton style architecture and its sundial made out of schist which dates back to 1693.
The colour of its door reminds us of one of our local customs: the use of what is commonly known as ‘paludier red’.

In summer, the chapel is a venue where artists exhibit their work.
