In 1872, the Count of Beaumont had a chapel built over the crypt, which had been spared during the Revolution.
During the French Revolution, like many neighboring towns, Saint Laurent-des-Autels suffered the passage of the "infernal columns"

Two legends are attached to this monument:
Saint Germain church has no transept and is divided into three parts: the bell tower, the nave and the choir.
On the facade, buttresses pierced with archways and gunports are linked by a covered way protected by a crenellated parapet.
